2021-22 Chair's Message
As ACEC Wisconsin starts our 2021-2022 fiscal year, I am honored to have the privilege of being your Chair. ACEC is an organization that I truly believe brings value to our professional engineering firms. That value includes improving our business climate, educating our employees and creating opportunities to interact and grow friendships with your peers both here in Wisconsin and throughout the country.
I do want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Kim Lobdell for her commitment to ACEC and her leadership as her tenure on the board ended on June 30. Her passion for the engineering community is easy for others to see and become engaged as a result. I also want to thank John Kissinger for his service as Board Chair during a difficult past year. John was a trusted source of wisdom as we navigated the pandemic. I look forward to continuing working closely with John as he serves as Past Chair.
ACEC Wisconsin represents the diverse interests of our member firms through effective advocacy as we look to advance the prosperity Wisconsin.
This advocacy includes continued development of our relationships with our clients, promotion or our firms within our communities and improvement of our business environment. As we look at our business environment, one of our goals this year will be to address how our state statutes define indemnification and duty to defend and the affect both have on our engineering firms.
As we look to grow our advocacy and make a difference in our businesses, we will be hosting our inaugural PAC golf outing in August. This is a great opportunity to join with your colleagues in supporting our firms while also enjoying Wisconsin’s summertime weather and outdoors beauty.
We will also get to show off our great state and the City of Madison as we host our ACEC Great Lakes Region meeting at the end of July. This meeting will include representatives from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.
And finally, I would like to give a shout out to our ACEC Wisconsin staff - Chris Klein, Kelly Veit and Andrew Heidtke – who make our job as Board easy. They go above and beyond to better ACEC Wisconsin and our firms. We are in good hands.
Thank you and I look forward to working with you this year. Have a great remainder of your summer!
