Enhancing Financial Acumen and Refinement at Leadership Institute's 'Running the Business' Session
From December 12-13, the Leadership Institute's Running the Business session, led by Matt Fultz of Matheson Financial Advisors, Inc., at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake. The goal was to cultivate an understanding of engineering firm finances.
The session was structured to empower participants with an understanding of finance, intertwining it with the performance metrics specific to engineering projects. We covered accounting basics, deciphering financial metrics, unraveling the intricacies of building firm value, and an overview of firm valuations.
In addition to the numbers, the Class of 2024 experienced a refined dining experience. We were treated to a fabulous five-course meal coupled with an engaging etiquette training session. The immersive etiquette training touched upon various nuances, including cocktail reception etiquette, understanding proper place settings and utensils, refining table manners, and gracefully following the host's lead.
The Leadership Institute's Running the Business session not only enriched participants' understanding of accounting intricacies we also relished the opportunity to connect and engage over an outstanding meal.
