Leadership Institute Session #4: Building Resilient Leaders Through Risk Management

The Leadership Institute Class of 2025 recently convened for its fourth session in Delafield. With a focus on risk management, this session equipped emerging firm leaders with the tools and knowledge to navigate complex challenges and foster organizational resilience.

The first presentation, Enterprise Risk Management, delivered by Anne Black and Cassie Coopman of Mead & Hunt, delved into strategies for identifying and mitigating risks across various business domains. Attendees explored the importance of proactive planning in safeguarding their firms' long-term success.

Brian Goodman of Boardman & Clark, LLP, led a compelling session on HR Legal Basics for Managers.

Joe Bunker of Strand Associates joined Paula Dixon and Allison Schneider of Holmes Murphy to kick off the morning with a comprehensive session on Contract & Scope Management. This interactive discussion underscored the importance of precision and clarity in project agreements. Joe Bunker shared Real-life Examples in Risk Management, providing valuable insights through case studies. Later, attendees tackled ethical dilemmas in the thought-provoking Understanding Ethics session, facilitated by Bunker, Dixon, and Schneider.

Katie Jones of O’Hagan Meyer wrapped up the event with Professional Liability 101. This case study explored real-world scenarios to help participants better understand liability risks and mitigation strategies.

One member of the Class of 2025 noted, “the session included great real-world examples that were relatable to our every day. Favorite session to date.”  

This session reinforced the essential role of risk management in leadership and provided attendees with tools to better serve their organizations.
