raSmith is pleased to announce that they have acquired Matsen Ford Design Associates. Read the full press release below:

"We are excited to announce that Matsen Ford Design Associates, structural engineers based in Waukesha, Wis., is now part of raSmith! On August 1, raSmith purchased the assets of Matsen Ford. Since 1987, Matsen Ford has worked on projects nationwide in conventional structural system design, cold-formed steel framing design and finish systems design. Our combined capabilities and experience will better position raSmith as trusted advisors and technical experts in structural engineering.

The Matsen Ford acquisition complements and strengthens raSmith’s existing structural engineering practice that includes cold-formed steel engineering — a niche expertise shared by both firms — as well as building design. Matsen Ford is a pioneer in cold-formed steel engineering that has leveraged its vast expertise into a growing building design practice. 

Matsen Ford’s 10 structural engineers and technicians will join raSmith’s structural team of 17 individuals. The Matsen Ford staff will move to raSmith’s Brookfield, Wis., office on Friday, August 3. raSmith has vast experience in cold-formed (light-gauge) steel engineering that includes residential, sports/entertainment, retail, educational and hospitality, all of which benefit from the use of the light-weight, high-strength and non-combustible steel."
